Stewart Lane is a multi-disciplinary artist working across music, performance, and short film. With a background in composing for concerts, theatre, dance, and film, his music moves fluidly between contemporary classical, electronica, experimental pop, and indie rock. Whether writing for string quartet, chamber ensemble, or a cabaret stage, he’s drawn to the spaces where genres blur and new forms emerge.

Stewart’s award-winning short films and musical projects explore themes of neurodiversity, agency, and divergence — topics he approaches both artistically and personally as a neurodivergent creator. He is the founder of BAL, an alternative cabaret ensemble that toured widely and won an Edinburgh Fringe award for its genre-exploding performances.

His work is intimate, cinematic, and often otherworldly — driven by curiosity, collaboration, and the constant reshaping of creative boundaries
