Major Mugisho (born Serge Mugisho) is a Vancouver-based producer, multi-instrumentalist, and educator. He is the founder of Afrodiaspo Media College Studio which is the recording arm of the Afrodiaspo Media College Society, a BC-based non-profit multimedia studio, where he focuses on the intersection of African musical heritage and modern production. His sonic style is a fusion of Afrobeats, Electronic, and Pop.
Originally from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mugisho’s family fled conflict when he was an infant, spending seven years as refugees across ten African countries before relocating to Canada. This international upbringing shaped his musical identity, which began with leading church choirs in South Africa.
As a technical expert, Mugisho is a recognized Logic Pro specialist and serves as an instructor at Langara College. His contributions to the Canadian arts scene have been highlighted by institutions such as the University of British Columbia (UBC) and media outlets like HipHopCanada. In addition to his solo work, he is a prominent figure in the Francophone arts community.
