Hailing from Texas, Javier Oviedo embarked on his saxophone journey at age 11, inspired by his father. Over 40 years, he honed his craft, becoming a shining star in the classical saxophone world. Renowned for his lush tone, passion, and technique, Javier breathes life into his instrument.
Javier revives classical compositions and commissions new works, his debut recording "The Classical Saxophone: A French Love Story" gaining critical acclaim. He collaborated with artists like Akira Endo and performed worldwide.
In 2014, he released "And So It Begins..." and "Lazy Afternoon: Salon Music for Classical Saxophone." In 2019, "Légende" with the City of Prague Philharmonic on MSR Classics. Javier performed with orchestras such as the New Jersey Symphony and the National Philharmonics of Moldova and Russia.
An accomplished chamber musician, he graced prestigious stages like Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and The United Nations. During the pandemic, Javier created captivating music for his YouTube channel.
