BANIS
BANIS, born Anis Bourbia, is an Algerian rapper from Oran. He is a founding member of the legendary rap group T.O.X (Theory of Xistence), one of the pioneering collectives of Algerian hip-hop since the late 1990s.
He is also the founder of the independent label La Base Prod, a key platform in the development of Oran’s underground rap scene.
As a solo artist, he released the album “Banis au pays des merveilles” (2011), a creative project blending rap with experimental sounds and diverse musical influences. He followed it with the mixtape “Charit El Moussiqi” (2012), strengthening his reputation as an innovative and authentic voice in Algerian hip-hop.
Known for his raw flow and introspective writing, BANIS is considered an important figure in the rap culture of Oran.
