H. Dawid Korenchendler was born in Rio de Janeiro in 1948 and began his piano studies with Arnaldo Estrella, and later with Lúcia Branco. However, he dedicated himself to composition from an early age, and in 1966 he entered the courses in piano, composition and conducting at the Escola de Música of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, with teachers Ilara Gomes Grosso, Raphael Baptista, Roberto Duarte, José Siqueira and Henrique Morelenbaum. He has a postgraduate degree in Music Education and was a professor at the University of Rio de Janeiro (UNI-Rio) since 1977. With a constant presence in the country's concert halls, he has received several awards and fulfilled several commissions. Among the award-winning works, Opus 1968, for orchestra, and Brincando com Bartók, for clarinet and strings, stand out. Among his orchestral works, Symphony No. 1 stands out - “Children's Symphony”, Genesis: concerto for violin and orchestra, Overture and Fantasy Overture, both for orchestra, and the Concerto for piano and small orchestra.
