Janice Martin

Publications around the world, notably The New York Times, The Washington Post and The Strad, have celebrated violinist Janice Martin as "a witty, elegantly perceptive performer" whose playing is “brilliant”, “splendid”, and where “perfection was never in question.” In 2024 she returned, after a decade-long absence, to the world of online music streaming for the 100th birthday of "Rhapsody in Blue," taking to the piano in honor of George Gershwin. Now comes the release of her treasure trove of Stradivari classical recordings with pianist Rachel Franklin and Carnegie Hall studio manager Leszek Wojcik. Janice Martin, violinist, is a 70-minute affair featuring Brahms' "Regensonate" (Rain Sonata), a dazzling Corigliano Sonata hailed "the best yet" by one reviewer, and the unrivalled natural beauty of Clara Schumann's "Romance in D-Flat." Janice is a graduate of Indiana University and Juilliard music schools, and a former Stradivari Society recipient (the 1708 "Sir Bagshawe" violin), who achieves virtuosity as a violinist, pianist, vocalist and, most uniquely, as an Aerial Acrobatic Violinist.
