Kush “Rashaun” McAnuff, born into a famous musical family, was born under the auspices of reggae in the late 70's in Kingston, Jamaica, during the golden age of roots reggae. Son of the legendary Winston “Electric Dread” McAnuff, music ran through his veins from the very first heartbeat.
After numerous experiences in different Jamaican bands, for live recording sessions on behalf of labels, or for other solo artists' projects such as “Be Careful” by his late younger brother Matthew McAnuff, for Inna De Yard, Midnite, Gyptian, Sizzla, Protoje, Damian Marley, Shaggy and many others.
Besides his work with his own band the “Uprising Roots”, Kush has also collaborated with the prestigious “Inna De Yard all-stars” led by musical director Earl “Chinna” Smith. His commitment to live music and undeniable talent made him a key member of this iconic band, with whom he also excelled on vocals.
Since 2016, Kush also decided to take off as a solo artist.
His latest release is out now on all streaming platforms: “Run Way Negative”, co-produced with French label Tattooin Beat.
