Bill D. Hampton has performed as a member of the trumpet section with the Manitowoc Symphony Orchestra since 2011.  Prior to moving to Wisconsin, he regularly played with the six-time North American Brass Band Association Championship Division Illinois Brass Band, directed a seven-piece church brass ensemble in Elmhurst, Illinois, substituted with several local orchestras in the Chicago suburbs, and performed locally as a soloist for several area churches.

He has published method books for trumpet including Selected Studies in Clefs for Trumpet (qPress, 2021), 66 Etudes in All Major & Minor Keys for Trumpet (qPress, 2021), First Book of Practical Studies for Piccolo Trumpet (qPress, 2019), and Second Book of Practical Studies for Piccolo Trumpet (qPress, 2019).
