James Curtis
New Zealand-born producer, James Curtis is an emerging artist who makes an assortment of electronic-based music reminiscent of nostalgic sounds. In his hometown of Wellington, NZ, James explored a wide range of influences including soul, hip hop, and dub & reggae. Since relocating to Toronto, Canada in 2017, he has deepened his love for these genres as they help inform his current sound. His favourite artists have also become his greatest influences - from Bonobo, Disclosure, and Fedde Le Grand, to Armand van Helden, Artful Dodger, MJ Cole, and many more.
James has passionately studied the rhythms and production techniques used by legendary R&B producers like Teddy Riley, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Timbaland, and The Neptunes - all of whom have heavily informed the future sound of James' productions.
The final piece to the puzzle is the infusion of numerous genres spanning from dance music, which include House, UK Garage, Techno & UK funky. Even other genres like Miami Bass and Footwork make a feature from time to time
