Arnaud Drillon is a composer of expressive and realistic instrumental music, whose work is part of the heritage of French modernism through an expanded, sometimes neo-classical tonal style. His music is characterised by a formal clarity inherited from the classical tradition and great virtuosity, often tinged with a gentle melancholy.
Recent works include "Rendez-vous" (2025), a set of 5 pieces for piano exploring the theme of movement, travel and passing landscapes, with those who leave and those who stay, in an assertive neoclassical style.
Among his works for chamber music, Arnaud Drillon has explored the repertoire for cello and piano with "Avant l'aube" (2023), a set of 3 pieces including the famous "Papillon" which was hailed by Spotify on its release. He has also worked with the cellist Lucile Fauquet on the repertoire for solo cello with his "Trois Cadences" (2023), a real technical and emotional challenge for the musician.
