Tibor Varga

Tibor Varga’s ability to penetrate the core of a composition and to express its message in an undisguised and unabridged manner was confirmed by numerous composers of his time: Hartmann, Krenek, Nystroem, Schoenberg, Seiber, Zillig and other composers regarded Varga as the ideal, authentic interpreter of their works. 

Marc Bleuse was similarly impressed, whose Violin Concerto Tibor Varga – as soloist and conductor – had brought to the Swiss première in 1984 as part of the “Festival Tibor Varga” and probably also to the German première the same year. Varga’s rendition, according to Bleuse, was “the only interpretation that really pleases me”: “This sound and this bowing technique, which makes one forget that one needs a bow at all, fascinate me more and more every time […]” (Marc Bleuse to Tibor Varga, 1993 – Translation)
