Her original music and songs have been used in films, television shows and commercials. Anna Bondareva's music inhabits a personal and distinctive sound world that is not easy to define. It is music of unusual structure. For some listeners, and for performers too, it is this "exaggeration" that is off-putting; for others, its sense of excess and rapture is compelling. In her piano music, she reveals herself as a master of the miniature. The music of extremes is "hyper everything", and as such it defies description or categorization.
